A weekly live call
Join a 75-minute call every week during the 12-week program. Learn with Ryan and invited facilitators through teaching, guided practice, and real situations.

Your invitation · The founding group
Create nurturing environments where people can flourish together.
Develop practical skills, practise with others, and receive personal support as you bring the learning into a community, space, team, or initiative you care about.
The opportunity
Over 12 weeks, work toward greater confidence in welcoming and connecting people, an experience you have designed and hosted, and practical ways to share responsibility.
Community takes shape through relationships, shared experiences, and what people choose to contribute. A Catalyst cares for the conditions that help those possibilities emerge: a thoughtful welcome, room to be yourself, and meaningful ways to take part.
What you will practise
Six areas of practice, grounded in everyday situations. Open a card to see what the learning could look like.
How the experience works
Short recorded lessons and demonstrations give you ideas to try at your own pace. A shared weekly rhythm helps you put them into practice.
Join a 75-minute call every week during the 12-week program. Learn with Ryan and invited facilitators through teaching, guided practice, and real situations.
Meet weekly in one of two participant-led practice triads. Take turns practising, receiving, and observing; share what you notice and learn from one another.
A regular practice partner gives you someone to practise with, exchange encouragement, and help one another follow through on the intentions you set.
The applied experience
Design and host an experience in a real setting. Gather peer feedback, reflect on what happened, and improve your approach.
This is a central part of the journey: a chance to put your learning into action and discover what helps people connect.

Personal support
Three private 30-minute check-ins, before we begin, around the midpoint, and after week 12. Clarify your intentions, work through a challenge, and reflect on what you are taking forward.
Meet Ryan privately for 30 minutes. Explore the community, space, team, or initiative you care about, clarify what you want to practise, and prepare for the journey.
Resources and continued connection
The Born to Connect digital book, 14-day Connection Challenge, and 12 months of community access help you keep learning, practising, and creating together.
Plan for about 3–5 hours a week during the foundation, with extra time around the experience you host. Practice groups can continue by choice after the 12 weeks.
Your place in the founding group
Take your place among the first six. Develop the craft of creating spaces where people feel welcome, contribute fully, and discover what they can make possible together, with personal guidance from Ryan and peers practising alongside you.
Your group begins two weeks after all six places are confirmed.

The possibility
The skills you develop here can change how people experience the places they share.
Someone who once stood at the edge can find a way to contribute. Care can become a shared responsibility. People with different lives and perspectives can discover what they are able to create together.
As more people learn to nurture these conditions, connection can become part of everyday life in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and shared spaces. This is the possibility behind Born to Connect: a world without strangers, where more of us have the relationships and support to flourish.
Your invitation is to help make that possible where you are.
Weeks 1–2
Understand how you show up and listen with enough attention to hear what someone actually needs.
Someone shares a difficulty. You notice yourself preparing advice before they have finished.
Choose an everyday topic with your partner. Listen for three minutes without interrupting. Reflect back what you heard, then ask what kind of support would be useful.
Recognize your own reactions and offer attention without taking over.
An illustration of the learning. You will adapt practices to your context and the people taking part.
Weeks 3–4
Explore why people gather and create room for different perspectives, needs, and contributions.
People have joined the same group for different reasons, and some are unsure whether there is a place for them.
Invite people to share what brings them here and something they would enjoy contributing. Notice common ground while leaving room for differences.
Make the shared purpose understandable while welcoming more than one way to participate.

Weeks 5–6
Help someone move from stranger to participant through a clear welcome and meaningful introductions.
A person arrives alone while everyone else seems to know one another.
Walk through their first twenty minutes. Offer a clear welcome, introduce them thoughtfully, and invite a small contribution they can comfortably accept or decline.
Help someone become known and find a natural way into the group.

Weeks 7–8
Shape the space, rhythm, and invitations that help people connect and create together.
You want a gathering to make room for quieter voices as well as people who speak easily.
Design a short gathering with a clear welcome, an optional prompt, and time in pairs or small groups. Ask participants what helped them feel able to take part.
Prepare conditions that support connection while respecting different levels of comfort.
An illustration of the learning. You will adapt practices to your context and the people taking part.
Weeks 9–10
Share decisions and initiative, hold fair boundaries, and work through tension with care.
The same person carries every decision, and others wait to be told what to do.
Invite someone to choose a responsibility they want to carry. Agree on their authority, the support they need, and a boundary you will both respect.
Share meaningful responsibility and give others room to shape what happens.
An illustration of the learning. You will adapt practices to your context and the people taking part.
Weeks 11–12
Care for relationships, resources, and the people carrying the community, while allowing its form and leadership to evolve.
The group relies on one tired host, and its rhythm is becoming difficult to maintain.
Map the essential work with the people involved. Decide what to share, simplify, or stop, and choose a rhythm people can realistically sustain.
Support continuity through shared care, honest limits, and the ability to change.

The responsibility of a Catalyst
Love and attention, with the courage to share control.
This work asks for discernment and boundaries. You will practise listening when it is difficult, responding fairly, and making room for others to shape what happens.
Your own wish for connection is welcome. The learning includes noticing when that longing becomes an urge to manage other people’s experience, and finding ways to offer care that respect their freedom and your own limits.
